Name: Trapiche Reserve Malbec
Vineyard: Trapiche
Country: Argentina
Varietal (grape it’s made from): Malbec
Vintage (year it was made): 2015
Appearance: Deep purple, almost black
Bouquet (what it smells like): Black cherry, black pepper and some sweetness
Taste: Black cherry, pepper, with a long plummy finish. Good tannins.
What I paid: $14 for 750 ml in Nova Scotia
What I would pay: $18.00
My take: This is a great wine for the price, and is my go to choice when I’m picking up wine. As a Malbec, it pairs well with beef, especially grilled steak, but it works well on its own, or with aged cheeses. You can’t go wrong with this one.
